1. Introduction
Kyomole Adventures is committed to ensuring the health, safety, and well-being of all our clients, staff, guides, and partners. As a registered tour operator in Uganda, we fully comply with the guidelines of the Uganda Tourism Board (UTB) and applicable national safety standards.
2. Our Commitment
- To provide safe and secure experiences for all travelers
- To protect the environment, wildlife, and communities we interact with
- To maintain clear emergency response protocols
- To train all staff and guides in safety, first aid, and customer care
- To regularly assess and improve our safety practices
3. Staff & Guide Training
- All tour guides and drivers are trained in First Aid, CPR, and defensive driving
- Guides are familiar with Ugandaβs health requirements including malaria prevention, water safety, and food hygiene
- Regular refresher training is provided in line with UTB guidelines
4. Vehicle & Equipment Safety
- All vehicles used for tourism activities are maintained regularly and inspected before each trip
- Safety equipment such as seat belts, fire extinguishers, first aid kits, and communication devices are mandatory on all trips
- Adventure equipment (e.g., hiking gear, life jackets) is checked for functionality and hygiene before every use
5. Health Precautions for Clients
- Clients are advised on vaccinations (yellow fever, typhoid, etc.) and travel insurance prior to booking
- Clean bottled water is provided throughout the trip
- Special dietary or medical needs are accommodated with prior notice
- We enforce COVID-19 and disease prevention protocols in line with Ministry of Health and UTB guidelines
6. Risk Management & Emergency Response
- All itineraries include an emergency response plan and the location of nearest clinics/hospitals
- In case of accidents or illness, our guides are trained to coordinate emergency evacuation and first aid
- We maintain a direct communication line with emergency services and insurance providers
7. Environmental & Wildlife Safety
- Guests are educated on responsible wildlife interaction, waste disposal, and cultural sensitivity
- Activities such as gorilla trekking and national park visits follow Uganda Wildlife Authority (UWA) and UTB conservation rules
- Eco-safety practices are enforced throughout the tour
8. COVID-19 & Infectious Disease Policy
- Regular sanitization of vehicles and equipment
- Temperature checks and health screening as per MoH/UTB updates
- Availability of masks, sanitizers, and contactless interactions where needed
9. Reporting & Continuous Improvement
- All incidents, however minor, are reported and reviewed
- Feedback from clients on safety and health is encouraged
- Our policy is reviewed annually or as required by law or UTB updates
